MAKTUB — مكتوب

It is written.

January 2024. Three hundred euros and a university timetable.

THE BEGINNING

I was still at university when this started. The entire budget was €300. No investor, no plan B, no second run if it didn't work.

The first thing we made was the Arabic set. One piece, one idea — put where we come from on something people would actually want to wear.

THE MOMENT

Then Lamine Yamal wore it on the cover of the official UEFA Champions League magazine.

One photo. That was all it took. People who had never heard the name were asking where the set came from, and the run was gone.

We didn't plan that. With €300 you can't plan that. It just arrived when it was supposed to.

THE NAME

In Arabic, maktub means what was already written. Destiny. The idea that whatever is meant to happen will always find a way to appear — and that you can't force the date.

I chose it because I believe it. Not as a nice word on a label, but as the way this has actually gone. The set, the cover, the people who found us — none of it was forced. It arrived.

WAIT YOUR TIME

Most people have no patience. They want it now, and they want all of it. But big things move slowly — that's not a delay, that's the price.

So we don't chase the season. We work in drops. A piece is designed, made in a limited run, and released on a date. When it's gone, it's gone.

Reflective prints that vanish in daylight and light up under a flash. Pearl work framing the Arabic logo. Custom zippers, rubber patches, embroidered branding. None of it shows in a thumbnail. All of it shows when you're wearing it.

If you missed it, it wasn't your time.
If you got it, it was.

SEEN OUT THERE

Since that first set, the pieces have travelled a lot further than a €300 budget had any right to. They're worn by artists and athletes across the world — people we never paid and never asked.

Every one of those photos still surprises me. That's the part I'm proud of. Not the numbers.

BE FIRST

New drops go out to the list before they go anywhere else. No countdown, no noise — a date, and then the pieces.
